JAY
This Jay painting illustrates a colourful member of the crow family, a bird more often heard than seen, but has a distinctive plumage. It buries acorns, beech nuts etc. to be eaten in winter but also eats small mammals, insects and worms.
Jays are usually encountered singly or in pairs, although in early spring large, noisy parties may career through the woods.
This is an original watercolour Jay painting on Fabriano artistico paper. It is window mounted on ivory, size 30 x 40 cms when mounted.
