DUNNOCK
The Dunnock painting shows a self-effacing little bird that spends much of its time shuffling close to the ground picking up small items of food as it goes – mainly seeds in winter but insects, spiders and worms in summer.
At a distance it is rather dull, but a closer look reveals a grey throat and breast enclosing a spotted brown face and chin. Upper parts are streaked brown with chestnut wings. The bill is fine and pointed.
This is an original watercolour Dunnock painting on Fabriano artistico paper. It is window mounted on ivory, size 27 x 35cms when mounted.
