MAGPIE
This Magpie painting illustrates a large black and white bird with a strong bill, black legs and feet, and a prominent long tail. The black areas have a glossy green sheen. A widespread habitat, generally solitary but may gather in small parties in winter.

Virtually omnivorous, insects, small mammals, fruit berries and in the breeding season, the eggs and young of other bird species. A hoarder of food and shiny objects, hence the stories of thieving magpies.

This is an original watercolour Magpie painting on Fabriano artistico paper. It is window mounted on ivory,  size 45 x 35 cms (landscape, not portrait) when mounted.
